Insulae, the new Aeroviaggi – Blackstone joint venture

Some more details on the Aeroviaggi – Blackstone joint venture. First of all, the name of the startup: “Insulae”. The Italian group was previously awarded the six structures of the Mangia’s brand included in the partnership: the Cala Blu and the Marmorata of Santa Teresa Gallura and the Agrustos of Budoni, in Sardinia, as well as the Brucoli near Syracuse, the Costanza in Selinunte and the Pollina in Cefalù, in Sicily, for a total more than 1,900 rooms. The company, from a report of “Il Sole 24 Ore”, is now 25% owned by Aeroviaggi itself and the remaining 75% by HIP, the Blackstone subsidiary already present in Spain, Greece and Portugal with a total of 67 structures and more than 19,000 rooms. . The investment plan of the newco would also appear to rise from the announced 85 to 100 million euros, with the aim of repositioning the Mangia’s resorts that have merged into the corporate vehicle in the 5-star segment. As expected, their management would therefore remain with the Aeroviaggi group thanks to management contracts. There are already thinking about the further development of the joint venture through the acquisition of new structures. A scouting activity in this regard has already been launched in Puglia, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia. In light of these projects, Marcello Mangia told Il Sole 24 Ore: “the group does not exclude the listing on the stock exchange, which could arrive in three to five years”. Finally, Aeroviaggi continues its expansion activity in the luxury villas and apartments market.
